A post requiring a disclaimer...

Normally, I'm not a fan of people taking iconic music out of context (for example, I love Mama Mia, but parts of it are a stretch...) and the whole concept of Across The Universe kinda bugs me in general. But, today I've had one song from the movie stuck in my head.

Before you watch this clip, I must warn you, this movie is PG-13 for many reasons, including the mature and violent scenes in this clip. This clip references the 1967 Detroit Riot, or 12th Street Riot as it's also known. It also has to do with death, as it references the death of a Vietnam soldier. Other than that, it is a beautifully done piece. It is my all time favorite rendition of Let It Be.

If you'd rather not watch the clip because of the violence (and I absolutely do not blame you) you can find a "video" with the movie poster displayed, and the audio playing here. It's truly beautiful.

That was nice.

I personally liked the covers of "I wanna hold your hand" and "Being for the benefit of Mr. Kite." (Because, really ... Eddie Izzard? A CIRCUS?? How could I NOT like that?? ^_^)

I cry every time I see this, so I'm not going to watch it.

I agree with Allanna on Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite though.
