...drum roll please?
WE MOVED BACK TO CONNECTICUT!!!!!
:-) Betcha didn't see that one coming! Or, well, maybe some of you did. But the ones we were planning to surprise had their socks blown clean off. Specifically one Kristin Jenson. Seriously, girlfriend, I wish you could have seen your face! We surprised most everyone by showing up out of the blue at church the Sunday after New Years Eve. Kristin and Mike weren't there due to being out of town, so I had to take matters into my own hands. I went to Kristin's apartment that Tuesday, and asked her apartment manager to help me out. She called up to Kristin's to tell her she had a delivery in the office. When Kristin saw me, I'm pretty sure she about had a heart attack! It was fantastic! :-)
We didn't surprise just Kristin though, we surprised an entire ward! I was so excited to see my friends again, I got so many hugs and so many "Welcome back!" exclamations... it's been fantastic. I was even stopped in Costco today! :-) It's nice to be back.
There is one thing that I've been just dying to talk about though, if you can bear to hang on for another couple of paragraphs. I'm totally stoked about this... I think at some point on this blog I may have mentioned my love of free stuff, specifically freecycle.org but just in case I haven't, (to borrow a phrase from our President) let me be clear: I love free stuff! I'm really excited to be back in this area, because I'm pretty sure the Freecycle group here has the best stuff around. Case in point, check out this sweet desk I scored today.

That picture really doesn't do it justice. It looks like a really nasty color in the picture, but in all reality it is a beautiful sage green with white trim. Largely neutral, but feminine enough to fit perfectly into my sewing room. Yes, I have a sewing room in my new apartment. And Thomas has a "Man-Cave" too. It's not a huge apartment, but it's plenty big for us. We're still working on getting it furnished, but my sewing room is mostly done. That wasn't on purpose, just how things have worked out. I've got a little love seat, and my desk, and Tim the Grey is in there as well... he's loving it. It's a very sunny room. We also have a mattress (memory foam! YAY!) and a bureau, and my kitchen is done too. Eventually we'll have couches and a TV and all the fun stuff, but it's little by little.
At any rate, that's what I've been up to!

Congrats on moving in!! Glad you made it there safely. Now someone needs to invent instantaneous transportation for cheap so I can visit you!
That desk is beautiful. I should check out freecycle.
Oh yes my dear one. You got me so good. I almost cried again just thinking about how excited I was to see you!! That was the best surprise ever. I could have hugged you forever!!! SOOOO GLAD your back and we can play all the time!! I just love you!
I love the adorable desk. LOVE it!!!! I bet it's so great to have such an awesome, welcoming, wonderful ward. We wish you guys moved in our direction. You are really a wonderful friend.
I'm glad that things are going so well for you!
(Not quite glad about the fact that our whole great nation separates us ... but it sounds like things are going well. As well they should. ^_^)
Aww, that makes me wish I were in Connecticut! Oh well. I love the desk !
Awesome desk! I'm itching to get some new (used, whatever) furniture. I love cool stuff like that. Glad you love your new place! Too bad you didn't move by us (Arizona's nice and warm...)
